Crystal River Scalloping
Scallop season is one of the highlights of our year here in Crystal River. We are one of the top destination’s for scalloping and for good reason! Our abundant seagrass beds and shallow gulf shelf make for the perfect breeding ground for our sweet bay scallops! We are one of the few counties lucky enough to be able to harvest them and we look forward to it all year long! Season is short, starting July 1 and ending September 24. So if your thinking about booking a charter our best advice is to book soon and come as early in the season as possible because dates book up quick!
If you’ve never scalloped before no worries! Our crew is dedicated to providing our guests with an elevated scalloping experience that puts our guests first. We include a guide on each and every tour that can help teach people how to search for scallops, how to dive down for them and once everyone is comfortable on their own, they can help collect and get you to your limit! Our guide will also be taking pictures with a camera along the way that we send to you at the end of your trip, NO CHARGE! What we’ve learned from experience is that everyone always wants the memories of photos from the day, however not everyone has a waterproof camera or is willing to risk their phone to the gulf. So no worries to you, our guide will take the pictures!
As far as scalloping goes, if your a person who enjoys fishing, snorkeling, or even just hanging out on a boat with friends carefree, our charter is perfect for you.
Our Vessel
Our vessel was specifically chosen because it is perfectly designed to provide comfort, safety, and convenience. We run a 26 foot tritoon with a 300hp engine that has a max capacity of 16 people. This boat was made for comfort. With seating all around and us only taking a maximum of 6 guests and 2 crew, the boat feels incredibly spacious.
The 300hp engine makes it so we don’t have to sacrifice any speed for that comfort and can still make it to the scallop grounds quickly. Our vessel is also fully covered with a double bimini to make sure no one gets too overheated in the Florida sun. 2 Coolers are aboard full of ice. And of course there is a ladder for the ease of getting in and out of the water. Whether you’re planning a fun summer date, a family outing or a group excursion, our boat is perfect for an amazing day on the water.
